The Payment Gateway provides a secure connection between the merchants commerce system and payment processor.

- Customer places order using merchants commerce system.
- Merchants commerce system encrypts and sends payment details to the Payment Gateway.
- Payment Gateway transmits the details to Processor.
- Processor then routes the information to an Acquiring Bank.
- Acquiring Bank then passes details on to the Issuing Bank.
- Issuing Bank confirms that the customer has available credit and responds with approved or declined.
- Information is then sent back though the Payment Gateway and transaction details are logged in the merchant Support center.
- Order confirmation page is displayed to the customer.
